I've finally overcome my sloth and killfiled the poster who constantly spams kirkspock with updates about that idiotic song contest. I would not have minded one post, or even two, but there have been fourteen (!) posts already since late August, and with greater frequency recently, and the thing apparently will go on for a while still. Now I won't have to see these posts ever again, yet can still follow the comm. Seriously I should have killfiled earlier, but on LJ the method I know involves fiddling with these style layers.

Oooh, do you have a link to a description of the method?

(I don't have anyone I want to killfile right now, but it does definitely seem like a useful thing to be able to do!)

I don't blame you one bit. Has it really been just the one person every single time? How can they possibly not realise that any actual interest we had in the topic diminishes with every needless repetition? Grr.

Yes, it's always the same one! I suppose the poster is really, really invested in this for some reason, and can't image that maybe many if not most of the other 2680 members might not be quite as into this. I have no idea why the mods are okay with it in a large and busy comm, but I just couldn't stand to see this again and again.
