Supernatural

Is it just me, or is the mytharc getting ever more tedious? I mean, this didn't really advance things or bring anything new at all, did it? Besides getting rid of Anna, again.

And I can't even wish they'd do more non-mytharc eps, because now these always seem to involve their awful attempts at "humor" which just squick me. I still could not bring myself to watch the bodyswap from last week.

Although, I do have one question about the events in the past: So is it now implied that John got his auto mechanics shop because angels whacked his former boss who had intended to fire him and now he could take over that business instead?

Ever more tedious.

"So is it now implied that John got his auto mechanics shop because angels whacked his former boss" Huh. Yes... Yes, I believe you're right.

Yeah, pretty much.

And hah! about the auto shop. I was thinking that the death of the owner meant that John would lose his job. I also assumed that the fear of being fired was Anna, not reality.

The mytharc is boring the beejeebers out of me. I think it's becoming more and more obvious that what they should have done to make this work -- what they started to do back in season two and then pulled away from for some reason -- is to world-build like crazy, because what they need at this point, I think, is a large cast of supporting players and world-building concepts to draw upon. Instead, they've been introducing supporting characters and artifacts Maguffin-style and then getting rid of them, which doesn't really leave them much to play with. At this point they're pretty much just reduced to going in circles with both the plot and Sam & Dean's interactions with each other. And the ongoing plotlines that they do maintain are just dragging on interminably with no resolution in sight. (Sam going evil ... remember that? Have we ever gotten actual resolution on that? At this point he's just ... Sam; it feels like all the setup they did for that went out the window and now it's just a matter of the boys trying to stay away from Lucifer. And all the ongoing plots are starting to feel like that to me.)

At least that's my take on it.
