So my rat Leo is now on the second antibiotic because the myco has become resistant against the one that worked last time, and this one needs to be given subcutaneously every other day. In the past I've always trekked to the vet for such injections, but that does take quite a bit of time, also it's of course more expensive than just buying the meds (especially the weekend injection when you have to use their emergency hour service which they charge extra, because otherwise a ton of people show up on weekends because it's easier for their schedules). So I've decided to try injecting him myself this time around. Though today's injection was still done by the vet, who showed to me a technique how to do it without anyone else around to hold Leo. And Leo was very cooperative with him, didn't even squeak or try to get away, but of course the vet has a lot of practice. I hope I'll manage to inject him myself on Friday. Sigh. Well, considering the drama Leo likes to enact when I force the oral ones into his mouth, this can't be so much harder. I hope.
