The fanlore wiki doesn't just cause me even more online activity dreams, it also makes me reminisce about past fandoms, and think fondly of fic I've read. Unfortunately too often I can't find the stories again, because sites and archives vanish. :(

I'd never thought one of my favorite X-Files/Homicide crossovers, Saundra's Mulder/Bayliss Slash-Evidence series, which I saw mentioned on fanlore, could be so hard to find again in its entirety, because X-Files is such a well archived fandom, and I remember it not just on her site but also on the Annex Novel archive and Gossamer, and on some slash archive or other, and its parts won a bunch of awards, yet when I looked for it today I found her site long gone and only some parts of the series in the archives that are still around, but not all stories. :(

However, since the parts are finished stories, and the first couple are still around I'm going to rec it anyway, because I reread the first parts and still like it, ten years after I first read the series. I found a WayBack Machine link to her site that lists the parts, but unfortunately the stories themselves aren't archived.

The main stories in the series were grouped in four arcs: Forward Slash, with the stories Young Blooded, Signature, Worst Case Scenario and Segue: Litany and Requiem is still available at Gossamer completely, also on other sites.

Trace Evidence, with the stories Inadmissable, Hobson's Choice, Say Goodnight and Coda: Penance and Lamentation, has unfortunately only the first part still available easily.

However I found Hobson's Choice in ten parts at the google archive of alt.tv.x-files.creative *hearts usenet* here: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10.

also Say Goodnight in ten parts too: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10.

and Coda: Penance and Lamentation in three parts: 1, 2, 3.

The third set of stories Cold Cases is archived at Gossamer: Filial Piety, Prescient Perception I, Prescient Perception II, and Epilogue.

The fourth set Sacrament of Silence started with: Segue: The Ties That Bind and Empty Cage was posted in 13 parts but only three of those made it into the usenet archive. (BTW, if anyone on my f-list has a complete copy or knows where to find it, I'd be really grateful.)

There were also a number of vignettes, some also available at Gossamer. Anyway, I dug it up as best as I could for you to read easily. It's a great series.

Harry Potter/Supernatural
I don't read a lot of Wincest, but I think this crossover is a great read even if you prefer gen. It's a lot of fun, humor mixed into the angst and drama, and the merge of the Potterverse with SPN here works great, and I liked the take on goblins and their magic in particular.

Harvester of Eyes, by gwendolyngrace. Gen. (ca. 26,000 words)
Sandman/Supernatural
John Winchester hunts the Corinthian, meanwhile Sam and Dean get lost in the Dreaming. This crossover is a great blend of the two sources.

New Jersey Voodoo, by Rokeon. Gen. (ca. 1,020 words)
House/Stargate: Atlantis
This is short, but really funny. John has a relapse back towards Bug!John, starting with an at first innocuous rash and progressing from there, and House tries to diagnose.

Late Nite at the Sudzy Dudz, by Sarah Ellen. Gen. (ca. 3,500 words)
Supernatural/The X-Files
I have no idea how I could have missed reading this story for so long. This crossover is a lot of fun. I guess you could sum it up as "Mulder and Scully meet the Wincesters in a laundromat and talk about cattle mutilations." but the dialog is awesome and it made me laugh a lot, while still being plausible and in character within both series.

House meets Methos in his morgue and is understandably curious. Snark ensues.

Apparently I'm in a spammy mood today, sorry about that, I don't usually inflict three posts in such a short time.

But while going through my bookmarks for the next AU recs update, I thought that maybe non-AU recs also might be of interest. And since crossovers delight me almost as much as AUs I decided to point out a couple of crossovers I've read and liked over the last few months.

Five Superheroes Dean Winchester Never Slept With, by derryderrydown. Slash and het, Dean Winchester/Roy Harper, Dean Winchester/Stephanie Brown, Dean Winchester/Grace Choi, Dean Winchester/Dick Grayson, Dean Winchester/Jason Todd. (ca. 3,250 words)
DCU/Supernatural
The title really says it all. Dean just fits so very well into the DCU. The idea behind the Dean/Steph snippet is especially cool, but Dick and Dean bonding over their scars and Dean working with Roy were also great.

Stopping for Pancakes and its sequel Looking for Salt, by dotfic. Gen, Sam Winchester, Dean Winchester, Dana Scully, Fox Mulder. (ca. 950 and 5,800 words)
Supernatural/The X-Files
If you're interested at all in Supernatural you probably have already read those two. Anyway, it's great to have Mulder and Scully interact with the Winchesters. The first takes place pre-series when Sam and Dean are still kids and Mulder and Scully are still working for the FBI, and in the second they run across each other again years later, some time during the first SPN season, and are fighting zombies together. I mean, zombies, how could you resist that? *g*

Once Upon a Time in the West, by marinarusalka. Het, John Winchester/Sarah Connor. (ca. 7,660 words)
Supernatural/Terminator
John and Sarah meet while buying weapons and ammunition. This makes for an awesome and very fitting pairing (not to mention hot), also Sam and Dean have some hilarious lines. As usual with marinarusalka's SPN fic the view we get of the Winchesters' pre-series family life is great, even if this is John-centric and not focused on the brothers.

Stray Cat Blues, by monkeycrackmary. Gen, Faith, Sam, Dean, and John Winchester. (ca. 3,500 words)
Supernatural/Buffy the Vampire Slayer
This takes place pre-series for Supernatural. The Winchesters run into Faith while on the road.

Rollin', by tzi and zaganthi. Slash, Rodney McKay/Dean Winchester. (8,256 words)
Supernatural/Stargate Atlantis
This isn't a pairing or crossover that would have occurred to me, but strangely it works.

White Rabbit, by valderys. Gen, John Sheppard, Grant Jansky (the author labelled it as being "pre-slash if you squint" for a bunch of pairings, but I read it as gen). (8,866 words)
Traders/Stargate Atlantis
This was done for the reel_sga challenge and adapts the movie Harvey. After an Ancient technology mishap John finds himself back on earth and in the past, and only Grant Jansky can see him. Donald's, Jack's and Adam's reactions to Grant seeing an invisible Air Force Colonel are great, it is a lot of fun to read.
